Game Day Recipe: Cheesy Sweet Potato Bites

Celebrate the big game without the overindulgent game day recipes by making our sweet potato party bites! Unlike other recipes for game day, this homemade treat gives you a satisfying snack with fresh, wholesome ingredients such as avocado, fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and cilantro. Plus, they’re so tasty no one will guess they belong with your stash of healthy recipes!

Cheesy Sweet Potato Bites

Ingredients

  • 1½ tablespoons olive oil, plus extra for greasing
  • Black Pepper Vitality™
  • 2 sweet potatoes, unpeeled
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 ounces fresh mozzarella, thinly sliced (optional)
  • 2 avocados
  • 2 drops Lemon Vitality™
  • 1 drop Lime Vitality™
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • ¼ teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1–2 Roma tomatoes, seeded and diced
  • 1 tablespoon cilantro, chopped

Instructions

  1. Place oven racks in upper and lower thirds of your oven and preheat to 425⁰ F. Line two rimmed baking sheets with foil and lightly coat with olive oil.
  2. Dip a toothpick into Black Pepper Vitality essential oil and swirl the toothpick in 1½ tablespoons olive oil. Continue blending essential oil and olive oil until you’ve reached your desired flavor.
  3. Scrub sweet potatoes until clean and cut into ½-inch slices. Arrange in a single layer on greased baking sheets, then brush sweet potato tops with olive oil mixture. Sprinkle slices with salt. Roast for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown underneath.
  4. If you’re not using mozzarella, flip slices and roast for an additional 10 minutes or until cooked through. If you are using mozzarella, remove sweet potatoes from the oven at 8 minutes, top with a mozzarella slice, return to oven, and bake for remaining 2 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
  5. Remove baking sheets from oven and set aside to cool slightly.
  6. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, use a fork to mash together avocados, Lemon Vitality, Lime Vitality, lime juice, chili powder, and garlic.
  7. Top slices with a dollop of avocado mixture and garnish with chopped tomatoes and cilantro. Season with additional salt and pepper to taste.

DIY Perfume with Essential Oils

Scents carry with them a wave of memories and associations. Maybe a classic department store perfume reminds you of your grandmother or the squeaky clean scent of bar soap reminds you of your mother. Our essential oil perfume opens up options for personal scents you’ll be remembered for, without scary ingredients. Plus, this DIY perfume is easy enough to make, tweak, and remake for years to come.

First, let’s dive into a couple essentials that you should know, like the “notes” of the essential oil blends that make up your perfume. Typically, you’ll smell the quick-evaporating top notes first, followed a moment later by the middle notes—the heart of the perfume. Finally, you’ll catch the base notes, which complement the top and middle notes.

When selecting botanicals for your perfume, start with the base note, soften with a middle note, and finish with a top note that makes a positive first impression.

  2. Once you’re happy with the blend, fill the rest of the bottle with V-6.
  3. Put the roller fitment and cap on.
  4. Print custom labels.
  5. Wrap label around the bottle and apply transparent tape.
  6. Roll on to your neck, wrists, or anywhere you apply perfume.

Dairy-Free Dark Chocolate Peppermint Mousse

Cook Time: 10 minutes

Total Time: 15 minutes

Dairy-Free Dark Chocolate Peppermint Mousse Recipe

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring filtered water to a boil. Turn off heat and add Yacon Syrup and chocolate.
  2. Whisk until completely melted and smooth.
  3. Add Peppermint Vitality and whisk again.
  4. Pour melted chocolate into the mixing bowl in the ice bath and whisk vigorously until mixture becomes thick and ribbon-like.
  5. Spoon mousse into petite serving cups or ramekins and refrigerate 1 hour.
  6. Garnish with a light dusting of powdered sugar and sprig of fresh mint.
