There are rarely times when we’re 100 percent content with the skin on our face. It feels like there’s always more to be doing to improve our complexion: drinking more water, using more natural ingredients, and eating less sugar. From younger days of combating oily skin to years down the road when age spots and fine lines begin to appear, it can be tough to feel confident. We want to help! We’re sharing our best tips and tricks to improve a healthy and youthful-looking complexion with essential oils and other natural products. Teenage troubles

Throughout the young years after puberty, the skin on your face can change and react differently for seemingly no reason at all. One day it seems oily and unmanageable, the next it’s dry and flaky. These are the important years to create a steady cleansing routine, so your face learns from your daily rituals. Even more important is using naturally derived ingredients that come from trusted sources, so you are aware of what you are putting on your face. Follow these steps to show your skin the love it deserves!

Step 1

Remove makeup and rinse your face with warm water to open your pores.

Step 2

While your face is still damp, apply Young Living’s Orange Blossom Facial Wash and lather it over your face and neck. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry with a soft facial towel. This will help control the natural oils that accumulate on your face during the day.

Step 3

After completing step 1 and 2, mix 1 drop Tea Tree and 1 drop Geranium essential oil with a small amount of light moisturizer, such as Young Living’s ART® Light Moisturizer, and apply it to your face. These essential oils promote healthier-looking skin, and Tea Tree has various cleansing properties that help reduce the appearance of blemishes.

Be aware of what you eat. What we consume can have a major effect on the appearance of our skin. Try drinking lots of water, eating lots of fruits and vegetables, and avoiding sugary treats when possible. Little steps can make a huge difference!


Young adult years

Now that you have an established routine that is years in the making, your skin is perfect, right? Wrong. Spots can still pop up, post-graduation work life can cause bags under your eyes, and maybe you’ve noticed that your skin tone isn’t as even as you’d prefer. Instead of worrying about obvious skin issues, these years allow you to focus on perfecting a radiant and smooth-looking complexion. Use this routine every evening—whether you get back to your apartment at 7 p.m. or 3 a.m.

Step 1

Remove makeup and rinse your face with warm water to open your pores.

Step 2

With wet hands, apply ART® Gentle Cleanser and gently massage it onto your face and neck with circular motions. This will remove dirt, impurities, excess makeup, and dead skin without altering your skin’s pH balance. Rinse with warm water and pat dry.

Step 3

Using a cotton ball, apply ART® Refreshing Toner to your face and neck to keep your skin hydrated, soft, and smooth.

Step 4

After your toner is in place—and if you have dry skin—try using ART® Intensive Moisturizer to combat flakiness and give your skin the hydration it needs. If your skin is more on the oily side, use ART Light Moisturizer.

Both ART Gentle Cleanser and ART Refreshing Toner can be used twice a day, morning and evening.
